Anika Karlsson – Liturgist

Anika Karlsson became a full-time staff member at St. Sabina Parish in late 2023, after volunteering as a choir member and cantor since joining the parish in 2019. She also served in a part-time liturgical role throughout most of 2023. Anika holds a Bachelor’s of Music from Truman State University. As Liturgist, Anika coordinates all aspects of prayer and worship within the parish. Her responsibilities include the formation and scheduling of liturgical ministers such as Eucharistic Ministers, Hospitality Ministers, Lectors, Altar Servers, and Sacristans. She also oversees the Art & Environment Committee, manages the scheduling, rehearsal, and education of cantors, and coordinates the liturgical needs for special liturgies including weddings, funerals, and bilingual Masses. In addition, Anika ensures the upkeep of sacristy items such as altar linens, candles, and plants, as well as those who care for them.
